But that’s not all: the actors Gregor Bloeb, Nina Proll, Susanne Wuest, Florian Teichtmeister and Sunnyi Melles are also popular. Probably the shrillest round is probably around artist manager Helmut Werner: He is accompanied by the former erotic icon Sibylle Rauch, the German actress Nicole Mieth and singer and jungle camper Florian Wess.

But no space around the State Opera

Around the Vienna State Opera, a seat ban was decreed for Thursday at the time of the ball. There is also a search ordinance. Although the regulation says “due to feared violent excesses”, the police’s assessment of the situation has not changed, according to their spokesman, Harald Sörös.

These are legal requirements so that in the unlikely event that the worst comes to the worst, the appropriate measures can be taken quickly. The demonstration of the Communist Youth of Austria (KJÖ), to which the organizers expect up to 500 participants, should not go as far as the opera. The final rally is planned in front of the Museum Quarter on the Square for Human Rights.

Vienna Opera Ball

On Thursday the house on the Ring looks like a construction site: around 500 workers have to transform the opera into what is probably the most beautiful ballroom in the world in just 30 hours. “It has always worked out so far,” reassured Walter Renner from the federal theaters.

The first thing to do inside the opera is the parquet.https://123helpme.me/ Around 170 of the two square meter panels have to be laid every year for the event. In order to compensate for the inclination of the auditorium, a kind of scaffolding is built underneath so that a level dance floor is available on the ball night. “It’s actually the same construction as it was in 1955,” said Renner. Due to the wear and tear, the panels are now covered with additional parquet.

171 flower arrangements and 480 flower arrangements

A total of 80 low-loader transports for the dance floor, the stage boxes and cladding elements are brought to the opera, which corresponds to an order volume of around 1.4 million. In addition, the opera will be adorned with 171 flower arrangements and 480 flower arrangements.

The gastronomic balance is also impressive: Statistically speaking, the 5,150 Opera Ball guests will consume 1,300 bottles of sparkling wine or champagne, 900 bottles of wine, 900 bottles of beer, 2,500 pairs of sausages, 1,000 petits fours and sandwiches as well as 1,300 goulash soups on Thursday. So that nobody has to eat with their fingers, 4,000 pieces of cutlery as well as 46,000 glasses and 600 champagne coolers are available.

The legendary Italian fashion house Versace is sold to the Michael Kors fashion group.

Michael Kors announced on Tuesday that the price was the equivalent of 1.83 billion euros. The luxury brand Versace is one of the few in Italy that was previously owned by the founding family.

The fashion house was founded in 1978 by Gianni Versace, who was murdered 21 years ago. His family last controlled 80 percent of the company, 20 percent was accounted for by sister and chief designer Donatella, and 30 percent by brother Santo. Donatella, her daughter Allegra and Santo are to remain on board after the sale of Versace.

Although luxury designer fashion is enjoying great popularity driven by a boom in Asia, Versace has struggled in recent years. The decline in consumption triggered by the economic crisis had troubled the company. However, after global job cuts and cost-cutting measures, the situation has recently improved again. Last year the Milanese fashion house returned to the black and achieved a profit of 15 million euros on sales of 686 million euros.

Versace is fighting tough competition in the luxury segment, for example from rival Louis Vuitton, which belongs to the French industry giant LVMH, and other luxury brands such as Gucci and Prada. The market is booming, thanks in particular to strong demand from China. But expensive designer fashion is also very popular in Germany and the USA – for example in the rap scene that focuses on status symbols. With its shrill leopard patterns and the Medusa head as a logo, Versace doesn’t suit everyone’s taste by far, but fans will happily pay thousands of dollars or euros each.
